Nicole & Christopher e-session

Nicole and Chris showed up to my office and wanted to do some original and fun photos. We brainstormed and came up with a plan to do the engagement session someplace other than Dallas, yeah! They left my office with a lot of ideas, a few days passed and Nicole called and said they wanted to go to New Orleans. I was beating it was gone to be Las Vegas, probably a very good choice, me and the poker tables seem to like each other way to much. Nicole booked the flights and I was looking forward to the trip and some of the crazy ideas where they wanted to shoot their e-session pics. Was not excited about the heat or humidity that we were about to encounter, but we came up with a few original shots and yes the heat and humidity was awful!!! However, Nicole and Chris were fun to spend the day with and I wish them my best!

Aaron & Stefanie Engagement Session Day1

Aaron, Stefanie, and I had a great time walking around downtown and getting to go up and get some roof shots. We have one more shoot left, I look forward to spending some more time with them exploring Austin City Limits. So, in the meantime I wanted to put up part 1 of 2 of our e-session. Thanks guy’s for such a fun day and can’t wait to travel to Austin.

Mike & Kacey e-session

This couple represents two of my favorite things, OSU and country music. Kacey is from Oklahoma and went to school at OSU (go pokes) and Mike is the lead singer of one of my favorite bands, Eli Young Band. We had a great road trip to Austin and New Braunfels getting these fun shots. The trip was filled with great conversation and making new friends. It has truly been a blessing getting to know them and I wish them all the best.

The Harris Christmas card was a year in the making and instead of throwing the tree in the dump, I threw our Christmas tree in the back yard and to let it age a bit. Keeping a dead tree in the backyard for over a year did not go over well with the wife, sometimes she just doesn’t see my big vision. The tree in the backyard was simple, but convincing her to put on that garb and those rollers as people drove by gawking at us took a little bit more of me selling the big vision. FYI the big vision was to do a card based on two of my favorite Christmas movies and poke a little fun at the economy. Can you guess what are the two movies are?

One day my kids will look at this picture and the memories will come flooding back of what their goofy dad put them thru to get this shot. Creating memories for a lifetime is why photography is the greatest job ever! From my family to yours, have a great and blessed Holiday Season!

Save the Date Card!

Well, just finished designing a save the date card for Kacey & Mike. Very excited about their upcoming ranch wedding. Soon, I will be posting some really fun e-session pics of our day trip down to Austin and New Braunfels.

Outside of my great love for photography is my other great passion is design. I plan to really ramp it up in 2010 and offer brides and other photographers something a bit more designed than what is out there.

TOP TEN TIPS FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY!

This list comes from the the Weddingchicks.com Great info and I hope you find very helpful…

1. Choose if you will see each other before the ceremony for photos or wait until after the ceremony based on the time of year and the time the sun will set. Ask your photographer when the light will be the best for photos.

2. Get a nice hanger for your dress. Have shoes, rings (clean please), and bouquet ready for photos.

3. Be sure that the getting ready room has plenty of natural light, is tidy, and not too crowded with people.

4. If you have a corset style dress, allow 20 minutes for lacing.

5. Shoes, shoes, shoes!!! Every bride wants to wear beautiful shoes on her wedding, but oh, the price she pays in PAIN!! Bring a comfy pair of shoes to wear for your reception.

6. Inform family members and wedding party to stay close after the ceremony.

7. Serve salads BEFORE speeches. Speeches that run long make for wilting salads and put dinner behind schedule.

8. Serve your vendors as you are served so they can take a break and be back for all of the action! No one likes their picture taken while they are eating anyway, so it’s the perfect time.

9. Don’t hold you cake ransom! Cut and serve your cake about an hour after dinner. Guests tend to enjoy their cake and coffee. We are pretty sure that the sugar and caffeine give them a second wind!

10. Enjoy your day, don’t let the little things upset you. It’s a little late at this point to worry about things not being perfect, so just go with the flow and have fun!! Remember, this is about your WEDDING and the commitment you are making to each other – not about your napkins being the wrong color. It’s a day never to forget. Be humble, graceful, be grateful, and be a beautiful person on your special day.

Nikki & Travis e-session

Well, I mentioned in my previous post, the fair was a popular place to shoot. Nikki and Travis showed up early on Sunday morning the last day of the fair. Was very excited to get started and see what fun shots we would come up with. We also were schedule to go to a second location and upon our arrival at the second location, someone forgot to bring Nikki’s boots. So, to save Travis butt, I was happy to re-scheduled to shoot on another day. It all worked out great, I’m sure they will enjoy the pictures and the memories for a long time to come. Thanks guy’s for such a fun time taking your pictures. By the way, Travis is a fireman which may explain a few pictures below. Travis and Nikki, you Guy’s Rock!

Heather & Dustin e-session

Well, the State Fair of Texas was a popular hot spot and several brides wanted to shoot their e-session at the fair. I love the fair, but man it wore me out. I shot two e-session on Sunday the last day of the fair, which by the way, is way busier than I thought it would be. Susan and Dustin arrived at 3, and after just finishing up with my previous couple, off we went for more fair fun. I had a great time getting to know them and we got some super fun shots.
